The Future Technology of Powder Metallurgy
We´re moving towards a sustainable, smart and safe future. Powder metallurgy will play a leading role in it. Compared to other technologies, powder metallurgy takes the lead with its low energy consumption, its enormous possibilities for material combinations and shapes, and its outstanding product properties.

The principle of powder metallurgical fabrication is simply convincing. Special metal powder is formed into the required shape using a press at low heat. Subsequently, the still unstable workpiece is sintered at temperatures between 1,100°C and 1,300°C, virtually baked and hardened. In the sintering process, the microstructures of the metal combine to form a highly stable, precise steel part that can be further treated in downstream steps as required. Simple, efficient and precise, powder metallurgical fabrication is unbeatable in the serial production of high volumes.
