The Sinterstahl company is founded by Plansee and Thyssen in Füssen (Germany) – the cornerstone for current-day PMG.
PMG acquires renowned company Polmetasa (Spain) which had been successful under the name Polmetasa (Polvos Metálicos Sociedad Anónima) since 1955.
PMG Asturias (Spain) is built and starts the production of synchro hubs.
PMG Pennsylvania (USA) is built, fully dedicated to the production of shock absorber parts.
At the same time, Teflon banding operation starts at PMG Polmetasa, the shock absorber specialist in Spain.
The name changes to PMG after the joint venture with Diamet, the PM branch of Mitsubishi Material Corp. Production in China also starts with PMG Shanghai.
PMG takes over the plant in Indiana (USA) from Mitsubishi. The company was already founded in 1987 under the name DIAMET. Now, PMG Indiana is a specialist for Powertrain, Engine and Transmission solutions.
PMG Shanghai moves to a new location in Shanghai Fengxian.
Vermögensverwaltung Erben Dr. Karl Goldschmidt GmbH (VVG) acquires PMG.
PMG opens its Shock Absorber R&D Center in the AIC Spain. The AIC Automotive Intelligence Center is the ideal environment to improve competitiveness through cooperation.
PMG acquires the former Riken España and creates PMG Constantí, Spain.
With this milestone for the Shock Absorber BU, PMG receives its own PTFE piston banding technology.
In the same year, PMG opens its Mexican representation.
Opening of PMG Indiana plant 2, dedicated one-piece-flow production.
PMG Asturias is expanded by a new hall for the production of Radiform® sliding sleeves and subassemblies. The same year, PMG opens its Romanian plant in Brasov.
In May, PMG Brasov starts activity in the new building. In July, the first compacted parts are produced in Brasov. In September, the production of the first sintered rotors and synchronizing parts commences.
PMG opens its Powertrain R&D Center at PMG Asturias.
New Market presence Powder Metal Goldschmidt
PMG acquires LEADER Powder Metallurgy Co., Ltd. (China). The company, founded in 1998, is a specialist for shock absorber solutions.
