Modern manual transmissions are equipped with synchronizer systems for better and more comfortable shifting performance. The main parts of such a synchronizer system, who's function is to ensure that equal revolutional speed between the shaft and the idle gear wheel is reached for shifting, are the synchronizer ring and the cone at the clutch gear. With respect to shifting comfort and endurance life, the synchronizer system represents a very important component of the gearbox. The synchronizer ring presented here is a wear resistant, high precision and high strength PM part, completed with a welded PM friction layer - ready for installation.
